On Wednesday evening Anna May Cale, aged 16 years, living with her grandmother at the corner of Bispham and Monroe streets, tried to commit suicide. On the plea that she wanted to kill a cat, the girl obtained an ounce of chloroform from a local drug store. Going home, she swallowed part of the drug. She saturated a handkerchief with the remainder, and getting into bed placed this over her face. Anna was found in an unconscious condition, but physicians brought her around all right. The girl is worried because of the estrangement of her father and mother.
