Anna May Cale, aged 16 years, living with her grandmother at the corner of Bispham and Monroe streets, tried to commit suicide by obtaining an ounce of chloroform from a local drug store on the plea that she wanted to kill a cat, swallowing part of the drug, saturating a handkerchief with the remainder, and placing it over her face in bed. The girl is worried because of the estrangement of her father and mother.
