Taylor Fizzle,
The Taylorites held a Mass meeting in this place to day. At the present moment, 1 o'clock P. M. there is hardly a corporal's guard aside from the delegates to their County Convention notwithstanding every effort has been made to get out a crowd. The whigs now generally concede that the Taylorization of the party don't pay expenses.- Whiggery is used up and there is no use of disguising the fact.-[Gazette.
The only remark necessary to append to the above, is to state the fact that the Whig meeting was as large as the Old Hunker turn out of the day before.
The Court House was full on both occasions. The Hunkers had been drumming for more than a month, announcing a long string of "distinguished speakers," and had a most beautiful day; whereas the whigs only put out their hand bills the week before -only announced the name of one man as speaker, and had as miserably stormy a day as we have been compelled to endure for two years.
If the Whig meeting was a "Fizzle" what was that of the Hunkers?
