THE PLUTOCRATIC GOSPEL.
According to Saint Mark (Hanna),
Extracts from a letter written by the republican boss to Attorney General D. K. Watson, of Ohio, in 1896:
"You have been in politics long enough to know that NO MAN IN PUBLIC OFFICE OWES THE PUBLIC ANYTHING. This Standard Oil company has nearly as much power as the government of the United States. You would be amazed to know the full extent of its power."
The letter was written in defense of the Standard Oil company and 'advises' the state officials to make no attack on organized capital.
"Come draw the curtain and lets see your picture."
There it is! Isn't it a pretty one?
