Full Text
General Sir Willoughby Cotton and Commodore Farquhar, had left the island, (after completely putting an end to the rebellion,) with the hearty good wishes of all parties—but a great portion of the papers are occupied in ridiculing and reprobating the Earl of Mulgrave.
Mr. Myers, a planter, has engaged in a project for the introduction of white laborers into the island—not only as a matter of economy, but also to increase the security of their white inhabitants. For that purpose he is about to repair to Germany, to bring over families of peasantry.
The elections had closed through the island, and were understood to have terminated adversely to the party of Earl Mulgrave and the government.
