Poole Announces New Postoffice Hours To Commence August 19

The postoffice is going under regulations of the recovery act. Postmaster Clarence M. Poole announced that beginning Saturday, August 19, the local office will be closed on Saturdays at one o'clock in the afternoon.

Mr. Poole said employees are now taking three days monthly enforced layoffs without pay, and that to keep the work going at the regular rate of forty-four hours weekly for each employee it is necessary to close up part of the time.

Mails will be received and dispatched as usual, Mr. Poole said, but the windows will be closed every Saturday afternoon at one o'clock beginning August 19.
