Mr. R. R. Cox, of Carrollton, Ala., is the guest of friends in the city.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Q. Poindexter, of Ravine, spent Friday night in the city.

Mr. J. E. Spencer returned Friday from Birmingham, where he accompanied Mrs. Spencer, who has gone to visit her relatives in Ohio.

Messrs. C. R. Evans and Thad Brazelle, who have been members of a jolly camping and fishing party over in Alabama for several days, returned home Friday having gotten plenty of the good things to eat as well as the sport.

Messrs. Carter and Chapman proprietors of the Surprise Store have had an immense trade the past week at their mid-summer sale which continues for only a few days longer. Bargains are there galore and for every body who wants them.
