How Did They Pair?
Watson has maintained from the first that McCoy repeatedly declared that he would shift for himself if once at liberty. From the fact that the murderer and Leroy were men of the same stripe many believed that they would form an alliance Other thought Jones and McCoy, both being hardened criminals and old offenders, would travel together. Sterry cuts no particular figure, but will be pursued so long as there is a possibility of his recapture. The pairing of McCoy and Leroy is quite natural and they are certainly the men who are now surrounded near Chugwater
