JUNE 19.

MILITARY

Since the multiplied impositions of the usurpers of the French Government, have left to America, but little chance of any other alternative than slavery or war, the Citizens have, with very few exceptions, been studiously preparing for the latter and most preferable condition. A military spirit has spread with rapidity through the United States. The people of Boston are peculiarly impressed with it; and the ranks of the militia have become highly respectable. Yesterday the Company of Boston Volunteers, under command of Capt. Phelps, paraded, in complete uniform. The exercising, marching and evolutions, were such as to command the warm plaudits of many veteran soldiers, who were among the spectators.
