On the 18th ult. our patriotic Governor finished the review, by regiment, of the 2d division of the New-Hampshire militia, commanded by Maj. Gen. Shepard. Eleven regiments of citizens, emulous to excel each other in the character of soldiers and some of those regiments returning more than a thousand men on the field, were gratified with having the eye of the commander in Chief upon them ; and we understand, that His Excellency received a satisfaction far beyond anticipation, in their martial appearance and soldierly discipline, which has been both liberally and justly expressed.
Part of the 1st division are to be reviewed by the Captain-General, in the following order :
| 1st regiment, | Portsmouth, | Oct. 15. |
| 3rd ditto | Hampton, | ditto 16. |
| 4th ditto | Exeter, | ditto 17. |
| 7th ditto | Kingston, | ditto 18. |
