REAL ESTATE IN WARRENTON.—On Saturday last a number of sales was made by Rice W. Payne and others, under a decree of the Circuit Court in the case of Phillips vs. Fant, in this town and adjacent thereto. A lot of 75 acres, near town, was sold for $50.50 per acre. Another lot more remote from town at $33 per acre. A very small lot at the corner of Lee and south 3d st., for the sum of $1030. A very small lot and tenement on Winchester st., for $630. The dwelling house and lot of Mr. J. L. Fant on Lee street, for $2250. Rice W. Payne has purchased of Wm. Golway, his brick store-house, corner of Lee and S. 5th st., at $2250 in cash. These sales indicate undoubtedly that Warrenton has commenced a career of improvement, notwithstanding the many disadvantages and drawbacks its citizens have had to encounter.—Warrenton Index.
