Full Text

EDINBURGH, July 1. Monday se'nnight passed through Kincardine O'Neil about thirty Men, Women, and Children, all from the Shire of Sutherland, on their Way to Glasgow, from whence they are to embark for America. Not above three in the whole Company could speak English, and even those very imperfectly.

And we hear from Dundee that last Week arrived there upwards of one Hundred Emigrants, with about thirty Children, mostly on the Breast, all from the County of Sutherland, on their Way to Greenock, to procure Passage to America. They say many more will follow their Example. They allege the same Reason for their Conduct as the former Emigrants from Sky, to wit, the enormous Price of all Sorts of Provisions, and the Oppression of their Superiors.
