A FATAL JOKE.
Jumping From a Car Window With the Train Going Forty Miles an Hour.

New York, June 17.-Among the passengers on the West Shore train, which arrived last night, was a party of musicians connected with Buffalo Bill's Combination. Most were in a jolly mood and amused themselves during the trip by poking fun at each other. As the train was nearing Fairview, New Jersey, Henry Dunker, one of the party, was asleep. He was roughly aroused by one of his companions who, in a joking way, accused him of robbing him. Dunker denied the accusation but his friend persistently demanded the return of his money. Finally his accuser drew a revolver. Believing his friend was in earnest, Dunker became frightened and leaped through the window of the car. The train, running forty miles an hour, was stopped, and Dunker bleeding from wounds in his head was picked up and taken to the hospital. His wounds are believed to be serious.
