REV. DENZIL A. CARTY

The Rev. Perry M. Gilfillan, chaplain of St. Barnabas Hospital, Minneapolis was the guest speaker at the morning Holy Eucharist. He took his text from the 26th verse of the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.

The flowers on the altar for Rogation Sunday and Mother's Day, were given in memory of Blanche DeFrance and Steven J. Adams by Mrs. Charles F. Rogers; in memory of Tolora Harris by Mmes. Crosby Bailey and Theodore Ruffner; in memory of Nellie O'Bryant and Lillian Walter by Mrs. I. G. Gilbreath.

A Baldwin organ was used at this service by the organist. Mr. John M. Whitaker. During the children's portion of the morning service, the Junior Choir sang with Miss Vianne Griffin at the organ. The Choir has a drive on for money to purchase a new organ. WILL YOU HELP??

The Rector's Guild served coffee and made their corporate communion.

Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m., there will be a celebration of the Holy Communion -Ascension Day.

The Guild of St. Monica will serve a Smorgasbord after the morning service next Sunday in lieu of the coffee sip. Charge is 75c.

It was announced that the Daily Vacation Bible School will be held this year the week of June 22nd at St. Paul's On-The-Hill. Teachers to help staff the faculty are urgently needed.

The Guild of Our Lady met Friday at the home of Mrs. Russell J. Gale, 852 St. Anthony ave. A social hour following the business on the agenda.

Another milestone has been reached in the life of our Parish. The rector and Bishop's Committee at their regular meeting Monday evening ordered 32 pews for the nave and 4 for the choir. The pews will be installed the first Sunday in July.

Members are urged to pay their Pew pledges as soon as possible. This is a CASH deal and all monies must be in when the pews are installed. More pledges are needed!

Prayers were said for Mrs. Adrienne Lazenberry Gross who is seriously ill at St. Luke's hospital.

An abundance of good fellowship awaits visitors to St. Philip's.
