American Occurrences.

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 29.

At a late quarterly examination, held at Mr. Poor's academy for the instruction of young ladies, the visitors who were present, received the fullest satisfaction. In the various branches of reading, writing, arithmetic, English grammar, and geography, a proficiency and readiness were exhibited, every way equal to their expectations, and which they think, entitle the academy to whatever credit and encouragement it may receive from their public approbation.
