Spread of Pleuro-Pneumonia.

Governor Gray yesterday received a telegram from Alex. Littlefield, of Jasper county, stating that the cattle of that county were affected with pleuro-pneumonia, and asking protection. The matter was placed in the hands of Dr. Metcalf, who telegraphed Dr. Navin, now in Clinton county looking after the diseased cattle of that county, to proceed from there to Jasper and learn the extent of the disease, which is now an epidemic in at least four counties of the State. The health officers have fears that it has gained such a start that it will be difficult to check its spread.
