A Large Award.

The jury in the case of William H. Turner against the city of Providence, for the assessment of the value of land for Roger Williams Park extension, retired and brought in a verdict this afternoon as follows: Dry lots, 231,605 square feet at 11 cents per foot $25,486.45; flowed land, 44,307 square feet at 4 cents per foot, $1,772.28; streets, dry land, 66,763 square feet at 2 cents per foot, $1,335.26; total value of land taken, $28,594.00; interest, $6,212.85; amount awarded plaintiffs, $34,806.85.
