MORE COUNTERFEITERS.
On Thursday last, Daniel Ross and Edward Burroughs, son of the noted Stephen Burroughs, were apprehended at Lebanon on suspicion of counterfeiting money, and brought before Justice Kendrick for examination. Evidence sufficient to render their guilt quite probable being produced, they were accordingly ordered to recognize in the sum of 1000 dollars each, and for want of bonds, to stand committed until the next session of the Supreme Court. They passed through this place on Saturday on their way to Haverhill jail;—their trial will come on in October next. Both the culprits appear to be only apprentices in the counterfeiting trade; but they have without doubt been serving under that old and experienced master, who has been so long and so notoriously distinguished throughout the country. Burroughs, in particular, does not exceed 18 or 19 years of age; but he has all that audacity, that cunning, that quick apprehension and expressive look, which declare him to be a "true chip of the old block."
