TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 1803.
GENERAL COURT.
On Wednesday last, the Legislature of this State, convened at Concord. His Excellency J. T. Gilman was re-elected by a majority of 32. In the House of Representatives John Prentice, Esq. was chosen Speaker by a majority of 13. In the county of Cheshire there was no choice for Senator by the people, owing to two towns being rejected; candidates ROBERT ALCOCK, and Seth Payson, on first balloting they each had 82 votes, 2d balloting 83 and 3d 84 each, when the Speaker declared himself in favor of Mr. Payson, of course he was chosen. The House has voted to have two Sessions this year.--It is expected the Court will adjourn this week.
