THE DEMOCRATIC MEETING IN MORGAN.

From the published resolutions of this meeting, it seems its Democratic members have resolved to meet them (their friends) at Philippi.

This classical resolution seems as though the framers of it had designed solely to show that they had, at last, read his story. Besides, it is ominous: For this Philippi is the very same spot, where Brutus agreed to meet his Evil Genius, his grim nocturnal visitor, and where there was to be, the day after their interview, a dreadful conflict between armies.

Pray God, that these devoted democrats, if defeated, as the republican Brutus was, at Philippi, may not lay violent hands on themselves, and in expiring, exclaim "Oh! Democracy, we have worshipped thee as a real God, but we find thee to be but an empty name."
