Full Text

Gen. Jonathan M'Carty.

Week before last we published a paragraph from the N. Y. Tribune, stating that the friends of Gen. M'Carty had not heard from him for more than a year. A friend, who has been travelling for some months in the west, informs us that he saw Jonathan in a little town on the Mississippi called Grafton, a few miles south of the mouth of the Illinois river. The General is "hale and hearty," and is rusticating from the excitement of party strife. The more important feature of domestic news from the General is that he is married to a Miss Parsons, formerly of this county. May the General live a thousand years—west of the Mississippi.
