BASKET BALL GAME CALLED OFF AT LAST MINUTE

At a meeting of the School Board Thursday, it was decided by the Board of Education to prohibit further basket ball games at night in order to conserve fuel. The Alumnae game of the year was already scheduled for Friday night and after some indecision, the promoters of the game were told, that if they received permission from seven members of the board they could have the game.

This was received and those who were to participate in the game, and a good sized audience were waiting in the reception hall to be admitted, when they were notified by Superintendent Caplinger that the Board of Education prohibited the game.

The amount of fuel which would have been used was only what it would have required to light the auditorium for one hour and a half.
