Britain Rejects
'Peace Appeal'

LONDON, Dec. 5. (UP) - The House of Commons by a vote of 341 to 4 today rejected a "peace appeal" proposal by the independent labor party after Lord Privy Seal Clement R. Attlee had expressed government opposition.

A demand for a peace conference to "bring this tragic, devastating conflict to an end" was made by J. McGovern, Independent labor party member of Glasgow.

Attlee rejected the proposal and said that "the alternatives before the country are not war and peace but war and what kind of peace."
