guilty of. but it was worst to suffer
for something that you are not
guilty of doing.

The Rev. Mr. Arnold listed six
reasons why Christ died. viz: 1)
because of class
distinction: (2),
because of mob violence; (3). be-
cause of base evil: (4). because of
political trickery. (5). because of
ingratitude: and (6). because it was
the will of God.

A special program was rendered
by the Sunday School under the
efficient direction of W. M. New-
kirk. Representatives from several
Sunday Schools appeared on the
program which featured readings
and solos. The judges awarded the
contest prize to Triumph church of
God and Mt. Pleasant Baptist
church (South Atlanta), while the
prize for the largest donation went
to Tabernacle Baptist church.

Superintendent Newkirk is very
grateful to the following Sunday
Schools for sending representatives.
Allen Temple AME, Tabernacle
Baptist, Bethel AME. Mt. Carmel
Baptist. Mt. Olive Baptist, Salem
Baptist, Triumph Holiness, and
West Hunter Street Baptist.

AUXILIARIES BUSY
The junior choir is progressing
nicely under the direction of Na-
thaniel Foster, president, while G.
C. Smith is the chorister. The
BYPU is moving forward under
the able leadership of Deacon W. J.
Thompson, president, while the
junior department is being led by
Thomas Atkinson. The divisions
are:
B.A.U., intermediates
and
juniors.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Sal-
lie Wilson, the Woman's Mission-
ary Society is progressing rapidly.
The junior department is on the job
and the study class is regularly in
session. The meetings are held
every Monday afternoon at 4
o'clock. Mrs. Mattie J. Day is secre-
tary.

The following deacons were
active Sunday: W. A. Daniel, T. W.
Wilson, Willie Gullet, Eurie Riley,
John Noinington, Chas. Lawson,
John Trimble. W. J. Thompson. R.
W. Smith, Nathaniel Foster, and
Daniel Butler.
