Full Text

We have copied the report of the Committee of Secrecy in the British Parliament, for the gratification of those who are fond of such details. It is evident, we think, that there is a desire, on the part of the British Ministers, at least of the committee whom they selected, to exaggerate the disorders which have arisen in the kingdom, and to magnify the exasperations of the People, to justify measures of such harshness as are proposed. The suspension of the habeas corpus act, is one of the consequences of this report, which will be followed by prosecutions and false imprisonments innumerable.
