Maine State House. The new State House of Maine, says the Eastern Chronicle, will be 150 feet in length by 50 in width, exclusive of the arcade, 80 by 15 feet, and the Colonnade. The building below the roof will be 47 feet. The whole exterior of the building will be of a hewn granite, very beautiful and scarcely inferior to marble. The work is now in rapid progress. The edifice will be truly an architectural ornament to the place of its location, Augusta, and will be indeed one of the most elegant buildings in the United States.
