REGISTERED VOTERS NOW 6,019 IN COUNTY

The total number of registered voters in Gadsden County has now reached 6,019, according to J. Love Hutchinson, supervisor of registration. The list has grown by the addition of 487 new names to the books since the last count in 1952, with 366 of that number registering since Jan. 1 of this year.

When the final count was made two years ago, Hutchinson said that only 17 were registered as Republicans in the county. This number increased to a total of 35 when the last count was made, the supervisor stated.

Largest precinct in the county is number one, Quincy, with a total of 1,310 voters. Second largest is number nine at Chattahoochee with 1,194 voters. Number 13, Quincy, is third from the top with 1,014 registered.

Number five at Midway is the smallest with 38 registered. Number two at Jamieson is next smallest with 54 voters. Hardaway comes next with 65 names registered.
