Full Text

New Wharf.--The Seattle Coal Company are getting along finely in the construction of their wharf, which will extend from the lower end of their chute into the bay about 300 feet. They will have finished driving the requisite number of piles in a day or two, and are even now cutting them down to the proper height so as to fasten on the string pieces for the flooring. From the progress they are making, it is quite probable the work will be completed this week. When it is, much loss of time and expense will be saved, as coal can then be taken on board steamers right from the chute, instead of having it hauled from the tramway in wagons to the wharves here.
