STEEL INDUSTRY READY TO STRIKE
STEEL STRIKE SEEMS MORE IMMINENT DAILY
(By The Associated Press)
WASHINGTON, June 9. Amid a roar of bitterness, insurgents of the steel unions revolted against the peace plan approved by Johnson and the employers.
The union men swore they would see the President of the United States and present to him a plan of their own, and the hurry back to their homes and "prepare to fight."
The threat of a strike in the steel industry, which many officials fear will "hog tie" the recovery drive, today seemed more ominous than it has for the past week.
