Full Text

The Run—

"Deerslayer" George Oldman was in El Centro Tuesday, clad not in tattered hunting clothes and carrying a squirrel gun, but dressed in immaculate "whites", and driving his "weapon", an auto. Oldman, a San Diego resident who frequently visits the valley, was driving over early Tuesday morning. Coming past Laguna a deer suddenly smashed into the right rear fender of his car and before Oldman had time to yell "fore" he had bagged a beauty. He tied the buck's body on the car and proceeded valleyward. "Most embarrassing, because I'd forgotten my hunting license," he said.
