SALT LAKE CITY (P) - Utah voters gave President Eisenhower the state's four electoral votes and chose a Republican governor in a three-way contest in yesterday's general election.
They also re-elected a Republican U.S. senator and the two Republican congressmen.
Eisenhower's lead over Democrat Adlai Stevenson was approximately 2-1, a wider margin than he won by four years ago.
Sen. Wallace F. Bennett defeated Democrat Alonzo F. Hopkin, a veteran member of the State Senate.
George D. Clyde, at 58 seeking his first public elective office, defeated Democrat L. C. Romney and Gov. J. Bracken Lee, running as an independent after he lost the Republican nomination to Clyde in the primary.
Republicans also won all other state offices.
Returns from 607 of the state's 1,030 voting districts showed Eisenhower 135,769, Stevenson's 71,339.
For governor Clyde 80,205, Romney 67,250. Lee 58,640.
U.S. senator Bennett 112,528. Hopkin 91,608.
