Manuel Guerrero, alias David Musqueiro, pleaded not guilty in the Thirty-seventh District court this morning to a charge of burglarizing the house of C. S. Mattison on Fifth street and was given two years in the penitentiary. The other cases against him were dismissed.
Henry Lawrence, charged with burglarizing the house of F. B. Biddleton, was acquitted.
Simon Castillo pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated assault by slapping Gregorio Flores in the face, and was given thirty days in the county jail. He gave notice of appeal.
Francisco Rios is on trial this afternoon on a charge of burglarizing a house of Sam Brown.
Vina Walker, charged with offering to bribe a witness in the Frank Robinson rape case, gave recognizance in the sum of $1000 with Dan Webster Garrett and Ed Williams as sureties.
Civil business was disposed of as follows:
Mathilda Lee vs. Tom Lee, divorce; judgment for plaintiff.
Huston Hollins vs. Mattie Hollins, divorce; judgment for plaintiff.
Abe Spitzer vs. J. J. Seale and C. N. Cox, note; judgment for plaintiff.
W. G. Tobin vs. E. G. Jones, justice of the peace, writ of mandamus; judgment by default. Judgment by default set aside and defendant excepted.
A. Battaglia vs. J. H. Stahl, judgment by default.
Victoria Wevel is suing William Weyel for divorce in this court.
In the Forty-fifth District court a verdict was rendered for plaintiff in the sum of $1000 in a case of Solomon Jackson against the Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio Railway company, suit for damages for personal injuries.
A case of Mrs. S. F. Dinsmore against K. E. Johnson, A. G. Vogt and Pauline Vogt, suit on note and for foreclosure, was dismissed at plaintiff's cost and leave was given to withdraw note and deed of trust.
