The following suggestions from the N. York American, contain more good sense than we have before seen among the multiplicity of remedies for the cholera.
The American recommend the article as 'particularly entitled to attention, as coming from a professional gentleman who has already distinguished himself by a popular work upon the subject of Diet.'
We hope the medical faculty in this City will bear in mind the great responsibility which devolves upon them, in, perhaps, a few days, and that the result of their deliberations may be such as to satisfy or allay the great anxiety in the public mind. Vain, however, are all remedies without a blessing from above. Let all, therefore, whether in the closet, at the family altar, or in public meetings, supplicate assistance from Him who alone can save us.
We would address one word to the keepers and owners of dram shops, whether they can rest satisfied in dealing out that poison, which, of all things, most promotes a pre-disposition to take this disorder, and which, in most cases, renders it mortal?
