Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Portsmouth, dated Feb. 17.

Saturday the Commissioner's yacht carried the Lord Kinnoul on board his Majesty's ship Windsor, in order to proceed to Lisbon in quality of his Majesty's Ambassador.

Same Day arrived his Majesty's ship St. George; she sprung all her masts in the late hard gale of wind. They parted from Admiral Boscawen in the hurricane, after seeing the Royal William's foremast go overboard, and otherwise in great distress, and has not been heard of since; but as the Royal William is a very good sea boat, we are in hopes she has weathered out the Storm.

The same day sailed from Spithead his Majesty's ship Namur, in order to proceed in quest of Admiral Boscawen.

At Spithead, Admiral Durell, with twenty-one ships of war.
