Shoes All Gone—Deputy Sheriff Stirling Oswald has disposed of the 90 pairs of shoes which he purchased last week from a peddler for $5. The deputy sheriff gave every one of the shoes away to people who called for them, and in this way many poor people in El Centro, who were badly in need of shoes were able to obtain a good pair. The worthy action of the deputy sheriff is worthy of more than passing notice, especially in these days when there are so few who care anything about the welfare of those who are in need.
