CALIFORNIA MAN GETS $10,000 REWARD REFUSES JOB

LOS ANGELES-- An unemployed Negro handyman who returned $240,000 he found on the street is $10,000 richer today.

In the last two weeks, since finding the money, life has been a hectic series of press conferences and telephone calls.

It all ended happily for the Johnsons when they got a $10,000 check from Brink's, Inc., the armored truck company that lost the $240,000.

Brink's originally offered Johnson a $90 a week job and a college scholarship for his eldest son, Richard, 16. Johnson said he didn't want the job and his son wants to work his way through college.
