KENTUCKY LEGISLATURE.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

November 19.

The house resolved itself into a committee of the whole house on the state of the Commonwealth: Mr. Walker was elected to the Chair, and after some time spent therein the speaker resumed the Chair and Mr. Walker reported, that the Committee had according to order taken under their consideration the governor's speech and communications and had come to the following resolutions thereupon, which he delivered in at the Clerk's table where it was twice read amended and agreed to by the house.

Whereas, the information received by the special commissioner sent out by the executive of the United States, respecting the navigation of the Mississippi, affords no well grounded expectation that we shall shortly obtain that navigation. And Whereas we are informed by the communications of the governor, that no further information has since received.

Resolved, That the Senators from this State in Congress, be, and that they are hereby instructed to take the most speedy and effectual measures to obtain information respecting the situation of negotiation with the Court of Spain, respecting the navigation of the Mississippi, and transmit the information they receive to the governor of this state.

Ordered, That Mr. Hughes do carry the said resolution to the senate and desire their concurrence.
