Full Text

Norfolk, July 3.

The Steam-boat Eagle, arr. this morning at 5 o'clock, in 19 hours from Richmond, having, we understand, lost nearly one hour in stopping on the way; she sailed again about 10 o'clock for Baltimore, and from appearances will beat that place by to-morrow at 10 o'clock. We venture to say the connecting Richmond with a line to Baltimore, will be found profitable to the owners of the Boats, & of great public utility. Such celerity, certainty and conveniency in travelling, we believe, will not be found again in any other part of the world. The distance from Richmond to Norfolk, by water, has been generally estimated at 160 miles.
