A few thousand dollars in Eagles and half Eagles of the new coinage were procured for the Bank of the Metropolis to enable members of Congress to carry home a small quantity of Gold. We assert it to be a fact-if not "of our own knowledge," at least-upon the authority of a member of Congress of the highest respectability, who consented to be thus shaved, by the deposite Bank of Washington.-Fred.
