Troop 188 which is composed of scouts of Blantown, camped at Camp J. K. Orr for one week, enjoying everything that goes along with a well rounded camp life. Troop 188 scoutmaster is Julian Moran who also visited Macon before his return.
While camping, the group of fourteen divided themselves into three patrols: the black stallions, the eagles and the wolf patrol. They were led by Leroy Duncan, Emory Jackson, Felton Gray and William Duncan.
When the group returned to Atlanta the scoutmaster received a surprise gift from the parents in the Blantown community. Included were: Mrs. Pearlie Anderson, sponsor: Mrs. Ella Hickmon, Mr. and Mrs Felton Gray, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Haskell, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Pass, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Ivey Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. George Lavender, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Bowie, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Shed Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Mackey Jordan, Sr., Mrs. Annie Will Bryant and Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker.
The presentation was made at St. Peters church, Rev. S. Randolph pastor; Rev. W. Randolph, chairman, and Mrs. Bessie Ooten, reporter.
