The latest letters from Buenos Ayres are to the 5th of Aug. at which date flour was quoted at sixteen dollars per bbl. No political intelligence of importance is furnished—a letter of the 3d. states that the Buenos Ayreans were preparing for hostilities, but it was the opinion of the writer that war with Brazil would not take place. The Brazilian squadron was still in the La Plata—it consisted of the frigate Maria de Gloria, 36: Liberal 22; three brigs of from 14 to 18: five schooners and two gun boats.
