Vision and Action
Someone who ought to know has figured out that eighty-five percent of our knowledge comes to us through our eyes, and when you come to think of it, that figure is reasonable enough, even though most of this knowledge may not come from reading. That is because seeing is believing-and remember that believing is the basis of action and carrying on the business of the world. But imperfect seeing is an obstacle to action-may even lead to a wrong or disastrous action. Imperfect seeing is the thief of efficiency and it is the cause of delay, inaccuracy, and costly accidents.
Most people are running daily risks because their vision is not crystal clear. Automobile driving on dimly-lighted roads, machine work, countless tasks which require quick but accurate eyesight, put a strain upon the eyes of men and women today. Six out of ten of them cannot naturally see perfectly, and only two of that six have taken the precaution to help their eyes in the work they have to do, by means of glasses.
And the same science which has been fundamental in teaching man the truth about this world, and has helped him to see the infinitely great and the infinitesimally small, can help you too, to see more clearly the ordinary things about you. Seeing is believing; have your eyes examined and see that they are right.
