The dead body of an infant was found in an old well on the lot adjoining the premises occupied by William Deas on Broad street. J. K. Witherspoon empannelled a jury of inquest, which rendered a verdict that the daughter of Wm. Deas was the mother of the child and that Wm. Deas' wife (Louisa) was an accessory to the transaction. All parties are colored.
