Judge Blair returned to Laramie yesterday.
D. Sheedy came in last evening from Colorado.
Robert Marsh, of Laramie, returned yesterday.
James A. Jackson came in yesterday from his ranch.
J. H. Millard, banker, at Omaha, passed east yesterday.
Mrs. E. Robbins, of St. Louis, who was visiting F. A. Meanea, has gone east.
Madam Mojeska, husband and son were passengers on No. 2 yesterday morning.
Mrs. R. Fregoning and daughter, Miss Sophia, returned to Laramie yesterday morning.
Zach Thomason came in yesterday from Horse creek, also D. S. Swan from the same locality.
Major Sniffin and Captain Reed leave by this morning's stage to attend the court martial at Fort Laramie.
J. M. Taylor, secretary of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance company, is the guest of Mr. Anthony.
Rev. and Mrs. Moses Smith, of Detroit, Mich., came in from Denver last evening and are stopping at Mr. Reel's.
Dr. Rafter returned yesterday from Laramie City, Bishop Spaulding going west. He expects to visit Lander city.
Dr. Crook has returned from his fishing tour on the Cache la Poudre. He was quite successful, but unfortunately forgot a lot he had put away on ice. He was also successful in bagging game.
Mr. Walter S. Hurlbut, who has formally entered upon the discharge of his duties as receiver of the land office, reports a large amount of land being filed on, especially in the Big Horn country.
A handsome cane was presented to William B. Trufant, of the Union depot, by the A. Lincoln Post, Grand Army of the Republic, Friday evening in Denver. Appropriate speeches were made and resolutions adopted.
When Mrs. W. P. Noble heard of the intended visit of President Arthur to the Shoshone agency, she had a flagstaff erected in front of her house, and when he reached the place the flag was unfurled to the breeze in patriotic style.
John Landon returned to Rawlins Wednesday evening from a three months trip to Carbonate and vicinity. While he does not condemn the camp as a fraud, he thinks it will be some time before there will be any paying mines there.
Bishop Spaulding, of Colorado, will visit the Shoshone agency on his present trip west. Confirmation will be administered on Sunday, 26th inst. The construction of an Episcopal church is under contemplation, and most of the funds have already been raised for this purpose.
J. W. Collins has rented of Mrs. Henney a furnished house at Nineteenth and Evans streets, and will now bring his family to Cheyenne. Mr. Collins some little while since contemplated removing from Cheyenne and going into the banking business elsewhere, but M. E. Post & Co. have extended him such offers to remain with them in his position as cashier as have induced him to accept. Mr. Collins is so popular in Cheyenne that it will gratify many to hear that he will not leave the city.
