The Late Freshet—Pennsylvania Public Works. We learn from a reliable source that the Pennsylvania Canal will be navigable from Hollidaysburg to Middletown in about a week.

The force employed between Middletown and Columbia is large, and hourly increasing, so that navigation in that direction will certainly be open by Monday next.

We learn further from the Harrisburg Telegraph, that the damage on the Delaware Division, from Bristol to Newhope, can be repaired in a week at an expense of not over $500.—From Newhope to Easton the injury is more serious, but less than anticipated, and will require some 20 days for repair, the banks of the canal being greatly washed, and several breaches having occurred. The Juniata Division will require some $5,000 worth of repairs. But little damage was done above Lewistown.

On this division navigation will be open in a day or two. At Pittsburg the canal was opened on Saturday. On the West Branch Division, near Dunnstown dam, the canal is impassable and greatly injured. No reliable information has been received from the North Branch, but as the water was higher at Wilkesbarre than for fifty years before, it is feared the damage is considerable.
