Fascism as Bad As Communism - or Worse
If anything could be worse than Communism, it is Fascism-or Hitlerism, or whatever you want to call it. Premier Benito Mussolini of Italy demonstrated that this week when he warned the world that Italy will stand in arms beside Germany, if necessary, to get back Germany's pre-war colonies and that Italy will, also, launch more troops into Spain in an effort to win the civil war there for the rebels.
In Fascism we have dictatorial force attempting to batter the world into submission by threats and- if that fails-- by force. In Communism we have dictatorial power in one nation attempting to stir up internal bloodshed in other nations by propaganda, and later aiding the rebels with armed force. We might say that Fascism is as bad as Communism—or worse. And we might say, also, that Communism is as bad as Fascism-or worse.
The wise thing, however, seems to be to stay clear of both in this country.
