Million Dollars Due STATE IN DELINQUENT TAXES

PHOENIX, Dec. 2.—With nearly a million dollars outstanding on the delinquent tax rolls of the various counties of Arizona, the Arizona Tax commission is insisting that county attorneys get busy, with foreclosure proceedings. There is no reason why there should be such a large delinquent tax list, say the commissioners. These delinquencies cover a period of four years. If the amount now outstanding could be collected it would greatly lessen the strain on the state treasury and would decrease the number of registered warrants for both county and state, it is pointed out.

A report of the delinquent taxes covering the years, 1916-17 and 1918 shows the following:

County Amount
Apache 5,668.65
Cochise 80,399.35
Coconino 30,316.79
Gila 40,122.08
Graham 51,075.20
Greenlee 17,840.39
Maricopa 281,976.81
Mohave 22,887.45
Navajo 26,523.83
Pima 92,786.95
Pinal 25,921.75
Santa Cruz 103,045.43
Yavapai 79,536.57
Yuma 36,783.45
Total $899,884.76
