WHAT PROTECTION HAS DONE
It has built up a monied aristocracy.
It has created 300,000 millionaires and 2,000,000 tramps.
It has erected and fostered monopolies at the expense of the people.
It has built and filled poor houses throughout the land.
It has made the rich richer and the poor poorer.
It has bred labor strikes, riots and mob violence.
It has compelled the workingmen of the country to form labor organizations to protect themselves against the great corporations of the country.
It has opened avenues of wealth to the few and closed them to the many.
It has disorganized society by the creation of classes.
It has taken money from the pockets of the laboring men and transferred it to those of the manufacturers.
It has placed one class of people in the power of another.
It has driven American shipping from the high seas.
It has filled the country with pauper contract labor.
It has eaten up the substance of the laboring men of the country.
It has robbed the people of $130,000,000, and locked it up in the vaults of the United States treasury.
It has taken this vast amount of money from those least able to lose it.
It has at last aroused the laboring men of the country to free themselves of the shackles placed upon them by the money power of the country, by voting for Cleveland and the whole democratic ticket.

A. E. ROGERS.
