Full Text

Turned School Upside Down
A social was given at the Assembly Hall of the school house Wednesday evening which was largely attended by the pupils.
During the evening a number of the boys left the ball and went through the school rooms, destroying everything they could and acting the part of hoodlums to perfection.
Black boards were broken and demolished, the pendulum was removed from the clock, the clapper from the bell and books were destroyed.
When they had done all the malicious mischief they could in the building they proceeded to pry bricks from the window sills in order to hear them "plunk" on the ground below.
As a result of their fun (?) Principal Gregory has resigned and seventeen of the boys have been suspended.
The boys will be given a hearing before Judge Bridges tomorrow. As they were nearly all high school pupils and old enough to know better it is not likely they will be treated very leniently.
The people have long been pestered by the hoodlum acts of some of these boys and the general sentiment is that they should be given a lesson they will not soon forget.-- Dispatch.
