Survey of Japanese Coast.—The Schooner Fenimore Cooper, ordered to make certain surveys for the Government on the shores of the Japanese Islands and Formosa, will sail from here about the 5th August, under command of Lieut. Brooke. Among the persons who will go out on her, will be Joseph Heco, the educated Japanese young man, who was picked up by an American vessel from a wrecked junk eight years ago, when he was twelve years of age; and he has since resided in this city and Washington. He bears with him a commission from the Federal Government.—Alta.
