William Coleman, Editor of the New York Evening Post, has recovered from S. Southwick, Editor of the Albany Register, a verdict of fifteen hundred dollars damages, in a libel suit. The offence was republishing from another paper a misquotation or misrepresentation of an article which appeared in the Evening Post. If such verdicts always resulted from similar prosecutions, we need only, to secure an ample fortune, prosecute to a decision suits against all who have willfully misrepresented us in the same manner.
